409 Stainless Steel

This grade finds extensive use in automotive exhaust systems.  409 grad stainless resists atmospheric and automotive exhaust gas corrosion.  A light surface rust can form in most atmospheres.   This rust retards progressive corrosion but makes the surface undesirable for decorative applications.  This is used in all our tubing applications, unless 304 tubing is specified.
